Can you connect Exact Online to ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Glimps processes your purchase invoices in Exact Online, and through the Glimps MCP server you connect ChatGPT or Claude to it in a minute: you paste one address and sign in with your Glimps account. Then you ask your AI assistant about your invoices, open items, approvals and suppliers, in plain words.

The assistant only reads. Glimps itself does the work in Exact Online: reading, coding, matching and posting invoices, per supplier as far as you allow. Want an AI that also finishes work? That is Luca, the agent inside Glimps. For AI and Exact Online in general, read AI invoice processing in Exact Online.

What can you ask?

There is nothing to learn. Ask what you want to know, and your assistant looks it up in Glimps. A few examples, click to copy:

Connecting

Connected in a minute

No developer, no administrator, no API key. Just this address and your own Glimps account.

  1. Add Glimps in your assistant

In ChatGPT or Claude, go to connectors and add a new one. Paste the address shown here.
  2. Sign in with your Glimps account

You land on the Glimps sign-in screen. Sign in, tick which administrations your assistant may read, and approve.
  3. Ask your question

Done. Ask for example: what is open in Glimps?

Why you can just switch it on

Safe to switch on

Putting an AI on your bookkeeping is normally a conversation with your controller. Not here, because your assistant can only read.

Read only

Your assistant can look and calculate, but not change or post anything. The worst that can happen is a wrong question.

You pick the administrations

When connecting you tick which administrations it may read. It sees only what you may see in Glimps yourself.

No documents leave

Your assistant gets data and text, but never the PDF itself or a download link.

Revoke any time

Every question is recorded. Want to stop? Revoke the connection in Settings, Connections and it ends immediately.

What it does not do

Look, do not touch

Your assistant is a smart reader, not a bookkeeper. This it deliberately cannot do:

No posting, approving or paying

All eleven tools only read. Your assistant cannot post an invoice in Exact Online, approve anything or prepare a payment.

No PDF leaves

Your assistant gets data and short verbatim excerpts from the invoice, never the document or a download link. Every answer is 12 kB at most.

Only the administrations you pick

You tick them when connecting. On every question Glimps checks your role in that administration again.

One tenant

The connection reads only your own Glimps tenant, never that of another Glimps customer.

Glimps itself posts in Exact Online, within the limits you set. How your data is protected is on the security page. The connection is on every plan, see pricing. Rather see it first? See the demo.

Questions about ChatGPT and Claude

Want to try Glimps yourself?Try the demo

Yes, through Glimps. Glimps processes your purchase invoices in Exact Online. In ChatGPT you add a connector with the address https://useglimps.com/mcp, sign in with your Glimps account and choose which administrations ChatGPT may read. Then you ask in plain words what is open, what you spent or why an invoice is stuck.

Yes. In Claude you add a connector the same way, with the same address. Any other assistant or agent that supports MCP can use it too.

Glimps connects over MCP, an open standard. ChatGPT and Claude support it through connectors, and those two are the ones we describe here. If your assistant supports MCP connectors with OAuth sign-in, it uses the same address.

Yes. On exact.com, Exact presents a Purchase Agent that flags deviations in purchase invoices during automatic invoice processing and makes suggestions. That is something else than this connection: here you ask your own ChatGPT or Claude questions about your payables in Glimps.

No. The connection has been read only for everyone since 17 August 2026. Glimps itself does the work in Exact Online: reading, coding, matching and posting, per supplier as far as you allow. Corrections happen in Glimps or through Luca.

Your assistant can only read, only in the administrations you tick, with your role there. No PDF or download link ever goes along, every question is recorded and you revoke the connection whenever you like. What your assistant requests does pass through that assistant: that is the choice you make when you point ChatGPT or Claude at your administration. Glimps sends nothing to an AI vendor on its own.

Yes. When connecting you tick which administrations your assistant may read. Every question can name the administration, and per question it answers about one administration and says which. Already connected? Remove the connection and add it again to see the choice.

No. Any Glimps user can connect an assistant themselves. You paste one address, sign in, and you are done. Because the connection can only read, nobody has to sign off on it.

MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude safely request data from other software. Our MCP server is the plug between your assistant and your payables in Glimps.

Nothing extra. The Inbox Agent, Luca and the MCP server are on every Glimps plan. You only pay your Glimps subscription, plus whatever you may pay for ChatGPT or Claude itself.
