Your sales invoices, in Exact Online without retyping.
Glimps now also posts the invoices you send. Mail or upload your sales invoice, and Glimps finds the customer in Exact Online or creates it, codes the lines on your revenue accounts and posts it in your sales journal. The PDF comes along.
On every plan, no add-on

Invoicing once is enough
Your invoice already exists, in the tool you made it in. Still, someone types it into Exact Online once more. Glimps takes over that part.
Without Glimps
- You make the invoice in your CRM, webshop, project tool or Word, and then type it into Exact Online once more.
- New customer? Then you first create the relation in Exact yourself.
- Look up the revenue account for each line, and fill in the due date once more.
- The PDF sits in your sent mail, not with the entry.
With Glimps
- You mail or upload the sales invoice. That is your part done.
- Glimps finds the customer in Exact Online, or creates it.
- The lines sit on your revenue accounts, and the due date goes along to Exact.
- The entry is in your sales journal, with the PDF attached.
From sent invoice to sales journal, in three steps
The invoice goes in
Mail your sales invoice to your sales address at sales.useglimps.com, or upload it under the Sales tab. Your purchase address with +verkoop before the at sign also works.Recognised as a sale, customer found
If the invoice comes from your own company, it is a sales invoice. Glimps looks for the customer in Exact Online by VAT number, Chamber of Commerce number and name, and creates it when it does not exist yet.Coded and posted
The lines go on your revenue accounts, learned from earlier sales to the same customer. Then the entry is in your sales journal, with the PDF attached.
One dashboard, two sides
With sales invoices on, your dashboard has three tabs: Purchase, Sales and All. A sales invoice carries the Sales tag, and you find it by customer or invoice number.
The connected Microsoft 365 mailbox only picks up purchase invoices. You mail sales invoices to your sales address, or you upload them.
What Glimps does with a sales invoice
Customer, coding, payment terms and posting. This is how each part goes.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Customer | Glimps looks for the customer in Exact Online by VAT number, Chamber of Commerce number and name. If the customer does not exist yet, Glimps creates it in Exact. If that does not work, the invoice says "Customer not resolved" with the reason, and you choose the customer. |
| Coding | The lines go on your revenue accounts. Glimps learns from how you posted earlier sales to the same customer. |
| Payment terms | The due date printed on your invoice wins, because it is your own document. Without one, Glimps uses the customer’s sales payment condition, then the condition on the invoice, then your company standard. Both go along to Exact. |
| Posting | Glimps posts a sales entry in your sales journal, with the PDF attached. Credit notes are posted as credit notes. |
What a sales invoice skips, and why
A purchase invoice goes past a few checks. You wrote a sales invoice yourself, so three of them drop out.
No approval
Your company wrote the invoice, so there is nobody to ask. Nor an approver who is just on holiday.
No purchase order matching
A purchase order belongs to what you buy. For what you sell there is nothing to hold it against.
No payment checks
You are the one who gets paid. Checks on who receives money are not needed here.
Glimps posts, you decide when
By default, you post
A sales invoice is never posted automatically by default, whatever your purchase settings are. Per customer you switch on "Book sales automatically". From then on, a sales invoice to that customer that needs nothing from anybody goes to Exact without a click.
Wrong direction? One click
Did Glimps read a purchase invoice as a sale, or the other way round, choose "Change to sales invoice" or "Change to purchase invoice". Glimps finds the right relation and codes again. When an invoice goes the other way than earlier invoices with the same party, the invoice screen says so.
Customer not found? You choose
If Glimps cannot find or create the customer, it does not guess. The invoice says "Customer not resolved" with the reason, and you choose the customer.
Exact says no? You see why
Exact Online checks a sales entry as well. When Exact refuses, the invoice keeps Exact’s own message. You fix it in Exact, or post that invoice by hand.
Questions about sales invoices
For companies that make their invoices in another tool, such as a CRM, a webshop, a project tool or Word, and then still type them into Exact Online. And for accounting firms that post sales invoices for clients.
An administrator switches it on per administration. Go to Settings > Booking defaults, switch on "Process sales invoices" on the Sales invoices card and pick your sales journal. Glimps then starts to sync your customers from Exact Online at once. Without a sales journal, Glimps cannot post sales invoices.
In two ways: upload them under the Sales tab of the dashboard, or mail them to your sales address at sales.useglimps.com. You find that address on the Sales invoices card. Your purchase address with +verkoop before the at sign also works.
No. The Inbox Agent in your connected mailbox only picks up purchase invoices. You send sales invoices to your sales address, or you upload them.
Glimps looks at the document itself. If the invoice comes from your own company, it is a sales invoice. If a sales invoice arrives at your purchase address, or the other way round, the document wins. If Glimps got it wrong, you change the direction with one click in the invoice screen.
Then Glimps creates the customer in Exact. Glimps first searches by VAT number, Chamber of Commerce number and name. If Glimps cannot find or create the customer, you see "Customer not resolved" with the reason, and you choose the customer.
The due date printed on your invoice, because it is your own document. Without one, Glimps takes the customer’s sales payment condition, then the condition on the invoice, then your company standard. The payment condition and the due date go along to Exact.
Yes. A credit note is posted as a credit note in your sales journal, with the PDF attached.
Yes. You switch sales invoices on per administration, with the sales journal of that administration. The organization overview shows purchase and sales separately, per administration and in total.
No add-on is needed. Since 15 October 2026 every customer can switch sales invoices on. A posted sales invoice counts like a posted purchase invoice: it is one invoice posted in Exact, and that is what your subscription counts.
A relation that is both a supplier and a customer in Exact Online is one relation in Glimps. Its purchase invoices learn from purchase bookings, and its sales invoices learn from sales bookings.
The refusal Exact gives most often is about currency. If your sales journal does not allow foreign currencies, Exact refuses an invoice in, for example, US dollars. The invoice keeps Exact’s message.
If the journal list is empty when you pick the sales journal, sync your journals with Exact Online.
Working for several administrations? The organization overview shows purchase and sales separately, per administration and in total.
