Glimps vs Elvy: from a booking proposal to an invoice that posts itself

Elvy has been digitising finance administration for years, with modules for invoices, expenses, procurement, contracts and archive. We made a different choice. Glimps does not make a proposal that waits for your click, Glimps handles the purchase invoice itself: picking it up from your mailbox, reading every line, coding, matching and posting it to Exact Online, per supplier as far as you allow. You connect today, forward your first invoice and a few minutes later you see what Glimps did with it.

The short answer

Do you not want to approve every invoice yourself before it is in Exact Online? Then Glimps is the logical choice. Glimps picks up every invoice by itself, codes it per line from your own history, matches it against order and receipt and posts it by itself once that supplier has earned your trust. A new supplier waits for you, and eight checks stop a posting the moment something is off. You start on your own today and your first invoice is processed within minutes, without a demo or an implementation project, from 75 euro a month.

Choose Glimps if

Exact Online is your accounting system and you want purchase invoices to process themselves from today: picked up, read, coded, matched and posted.

Choose Elvy if

your books still run on Exact Globe, because Elvy supports it and Glimps does not.

Where the difference shows up in practice

A proposal is not yet a posting

On their own product page for Exact Online (updated October 2024), Elvy describes that it makes a booking proposal and creates the posting in Exact Online after you approve it. Glimps goes one step further. It picks the invoice up by itself, reads every line, picks GL account, VAT code and cost centre from what you posted before, lays the lines next to your purchase order and receipt and posts it by itself, once that supplier has earned your trust. It can do that because Glimps is built only for Exact Online: suppliers, journals, projects, orders and receipts come straight out of it.

Trust per supplier, not for everything at once

A new supplier is prepared by Glimps and waits for you. A supplier with a clean track record, an invoice that fully matches the purchase order or an invoice covered by an approved contract, Glimps posts by itself. A supplier only moves up when you accept a proposal to do so, and one correction moves it back down automatically. Eight checks always stop a posting: a possible duplicate invoice, a changed bank account, arithmetic that does not add up, a credit note, an amount above your limit. Glimps never pays and never raises its own level.

Nothing to set up, not even for the difficult invoices

In their blog of September 2026, Elvy describes how a customer sped up the processing of fixed service bills by setting up fixed recognition and calculation rules. With Glimps you set up nothing, not per supplier and not per invoice type. Glimps learns from what you posted before, per supplier and per line description, and leaves a field empty when it is unsure, instead of posting a guess. The audit trail shows for every step who or what took it, and why.

Start today, on your own invoices

At Elvy you start with a demonstration request, and Elvy writes itself that you get the most out of Elvy Online after proper training. At Glimps you connect Exact Online in a few clicks, put the Inbox Agent on your invoice mailbox and your first invoice is processed within a few minutes. You do not have to call anyone to see if it works, and you test straight away on the invoices you find difficult, not on a sample.

Elvy has modules for invoices, expenses, procurement, contracts and archive, and describes on its own product page (October 2024) that the posting in Exact Online follows after you approve the booking proposal. Glimps only does purchase invoices, and it handles them by itself. It picks the invoice up from your mailbox, codes every line from your own history, matches it and posts it, per supplier as far as you allow. When something is off, Glimps stops itself and explains why.

No, only as long as you want to. A new supplier is prepared by Glimps and waits for you, a supplier you trust Glimps posts to Exact Online by itself. There are three routes to that: a clean track record for that supplier, an invoice that fully matches the purchase order within your tolerance, or an approved contract that covers the invoice. A supplier only moves up through a proposal you accept, and one correction moves it back down automatically.

Then Glimps does not guess: a field it is unsure about stays empty. A possible duplicate invoice, a duplicate check that is unavailable, a changed bank account or arithmetic that does not add up stop the posting. An amount above your limit, a supplier that was silent for twelve months, a credit note or a currency that differs from before limit how far Glimps goes by itself. While a check is open Glimps does not post, and Glimps never pays.

Today. You connect Exact Online yourself, forward your first invoice and within a few minutes you see what Glimps did with it. No demo, no implementation project and no implementation fee. At Elvy you start with a demonstration request.

According to elvy.nl/nl/prijzen, Elvy Factuurverwerking costs 119 euro per month without approvers, or 2,995 euro one-off with annual maintenance (169 euro per month with 1 to 5 approvers), and an extra concurrent bookkeeper 29 euro per month. Glimps puts every price on the site: Starter 75 euro per month for 100 invoices, Professional 149 euro for 300 and Business 399 euro for 1,000. PO matching and the contract register are add-ons at 149 euro per month. Up to 100 invoices a month you pay 44 euro a month less at Glimps, without an implementation fee.

Yes. Elvy Online runs in the cloud and, according to their own site, connects in real time through the Exact Online API, and Elvy also supports Exact Globe. Glimps is built only for Exact Online and goes deep because of that: suppliers, GL accounts, VAT codes, cost centres, projects and journals per administration come straight from Exact Online. Glimps also fetches purchase orders and receipts from there by itself.

Through the Inbox Agent. You connect your Microsoft 365 mailbox once, and from then on every invoice lands in Glimps by itself: also the reminder with the invoice attached, forwarded mail and invoices somewhere inside a mail thread. Nobody has to forward anything any more, and if you first want to see what it would pick up, you start in look-only mode. The Inbox Agent is on every plan, and if you use another mail system, your administration has its own invoice address.

Yes. Elvy describes on its own site that you can match an invoice against a receipt, on quantities and prices. Glimps lays every invoice line next to the purchase order and the goods receipt, straight from Exact Online, with tolerances you set separately in euro and in percent. PO matching is an add-on at 149 euro per month on Professional and Business.

Glimps does not pass your data to a model provider to train general models with it. Glimps also does not learn across customers: what you correct stays within your own account and only improves your own processing. And when you ask something through Claude or ChatGPT, the MCP server can only read, never change or post anything.

Yes. Posted invoices and their PDF live in Exact Online, not in the processing tool, so you lose nothing. And you can easily let Glimps run next to Elvy for a while, until you see for yourself that it works.
